You can search for legal ASL interpreters in your area who specialize in legal and judicial interpreting and who hold advanced credentials, specifically specialized certification in legal interpreting (SC: L) or certification for an interpreter who is deaf (CDI).
The fields at left enable search by state or ZIP code. Simply choose the criteria and select "search".
The purpose of this LASLI Associate listing is limited to introducing you to prospective interpreters. Being listed as an Associate of the LASLI Center does not in any way give an unconditional endorsement to any particular individual nor does certification ensure competency. Each of the interpreters listed has presented documentation for the training and certifications shown in his or her profile. This information is accurate according to the best information at the time of posting.
Please check the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf's web site at www.rid.org to confirm an interpreter's credentials. Additionally, a preliminary determination should be made by the interpreters and deaf individuals to establish communication and court proceedings interpreters should be subjected to voir dire. (See the LASLI Resources for related info.) |
